"Easy check-in, no stress"
Booked online i had a good feeling about it from the start. Entry was super easy, and the staff checked us in quickly with no hassle at all. They told us exactly where to wait, and even though it was busy outside, we got in right on time. Really smooth start to the visit, so I can’t complain.
"Easy to Get In and Out"
Access was good overall, no real issues. I got in easily, and yeah, nothing really stood out as a problem. Parking or getting around was fine too, or at least I didn’t run into anything annoying. Straightforward experience...

"We booked tickets for The Real Mary King’s…"
We booked tickets for The Real Mary King’s Close i thought the price was reasonable for what you get. It’s not exactly cheap, but maybe that’s just me being a bit tight because we were paying for the family. The tour itself was really interesting and lasted a good amount of time, so it didn’t feel rushed or like a waste of money. I’d probably give it 5 stars if the family ticket was a little cheaper, but overall we were happy we went

"Booking was simple enough"
Booking was easy, to be fair. The dates and times were clear, and the payment went through without any drama, which is always nice. The confirmation email took a little longer than I’d expect, but apparently patience is part of the process. Overall, it got the job done

"Nice little gift shop, but could use clearer signs"
Stopped in after the tour and thought the gift shop was lovely. I picked up a magnet and some sweets, and the staff were friendly enough. Prices seemed fair too. The only thing is I was expecting the instructions or signage around where to go after the tour to be a bit clearer, but overall it was a nice wee stop.

"Great little spot for spooky photos"
I really enjoyed wandering around here. There are so many moody little corners that are perfect for spooky-looking photos. The lighting was a bit tricky, so I’d definitely take your time and watch your step, but it actually made the pictures look even older and more atmospheric. Staff were friendly too, which helped me feel more comfortable exploring. Easy 5 stars from me.

"Really interesting tour, just wish it was longer"
We booked the Real Mary King’s Close tour while we were in Edinburgh and I’m really glad we did. Our guide was funny, really knew their stuff, and made the old rooms feel much more alive than just walking through on your own would have. I’d asked beforehand about the timing and the reply was basically, “allow about an hour and arrive a little early,” which was helpful and accurate. My only reason for giving 4 stars is that it felt a bit short for the price. I could have stayed down there longer. Still a great experience and definitely worth doing if you’re in the city

"Creepy and Fun, but a Bit Uneven"
This place was way spookier than I expected. Some of the dark areas and the stories genuinely gave me chills, and I liked that it didn’t feel super cheesy or overdone. It had a really creepy atmosphere in a fun way. That said, a couple parts felt a little slow and I wish there had been a bit more going on in between the scarier moments. Still, overall it was a memorable experience and definitely worth checking out if you like spooky stuff...

"Kind of not worth what it costs"
It was alright, I guess, but for the price it felt a little too much, honestly. The place is interesting, yes, but not really enough that the ticket felt like good value to me. For the money, I was expecting more. I’d say only go if seeing it is something you really already want to do.

"Interesting tour, but didn’t feel very personal"
I went with my family and the tour itself was interesting, but the group was so big that it was hard to hear parts of it. The guide was nice enough, though at times I felt a little talked down to, which made it less enjoyable. It wasn’t a bad experience overall, I just expected it to feel a bit more personal.

"Interesting tour, but a bit packed"
The tour was interesting overall, and the guide seemed to know their stuff and did a solid job. But the group felt a little too big, especially when we got into the smaller areas. It was kind of hard to hear sometimes because everyone was bunched up, and it just felt a bit messy. The staff were friendly, so it wasn’t a bad experience or anything, just felt rushed in a few spots. I’d still go, but they probably need to spread people out better or run smaller groups.

"Interesting visit, though a little hard to take in at times"
I booked through realmarykingsclose.com and overall I’m glad I went. There were moments that really stuck with me, especially walking through the darker spaces and trying to imagine what it must have felt like back then. That part had a bit of an eerie emotional pull to it. The audio was mostly fine, but in a few sections it sounded low or muffled, so I had to concentrate to follow along. Visibility also wasn’t great in some of the darker areas, and I left feeling like I probably missed a few details. Still, it was an interesting experience and definitely memorable, just wish a few parts had been a little clearer

"Clean and Simple Stay"
The room was clean and comfortable enough for my stay, and the bathroom was fine too (nothing fancy, but no complaints). Overall, it was a straightforward and decent place to stay...

The close felt really authentic, not some cheesy tourist crap. The guide clearly knew a ton about the history, and they made it so easy to picture what old Edinburgh was actually like back then. way better than I expected...

"Fun way to learn about Edinburgh"
I really enjoyed this as a fun, easy way to learn more about Edinburgh’s history. It didn’t feel too dry or like a lecture, and it gave me a better appreciation for the city while walking around. The only small issue was a bit of confusion at the start, which felt preventable, but overall it was a great experience.

"Interesting tour, but a bit rushed"
The tour was definitely interesting and we enjoyed learning about the place, but the pacing felt a little too quick for us. We would’ve liked a bit more time to take things in and ask questions. I also expected a faster response when I reached out beforehand, but overall it was still a decent experience.

"Really fun tour"
Had a great time on this tour. The guide was really funny and seemed to know pretty much everything, or at least it felt that way. Made the whole experience easy to enjoy, and I’d definitely say it was worth doing.

"Interesting idea, but it dragged a bit"
I liked the concept and the history behind it, and there were definitely moments where the storytelling pulled me in. But some parts felt slow, and I caught myself zoning out more than once, which was kind of frustrating because it felt like I was using up energy trying to stay invested. It’s still worth checking out if you’re into old stories and ghostly stuff, but don’t expect it to be super gripping the whole way through.
